Aurora Real de Asua

Aurora Real de Asua (she/her/hers) is a writer, performer, and filmmaker. Her credits with Remy include Top Girls (Dull Gret/Angie) and Artist Descending A Staircase (Sophie). She has performed at the Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Court Theatre, Northlight, Victory Gardens, Rivendell and the Hypocrites, among others. Her play WIPEOUT received a rolling world premiere through the New Play Network, with productions at Rivendell Theatre, B Street Theatre, Gloucester Stage Company, Constellations Stage and Screen, Alleyway Theatre, and an upcoming performance at Studio Theatre in DC. WIPEOUT won the 2024 David Goldman Fund for New American Plays Award. Her work has been developed at the Manhattan Theatre Club, The Playwright’s Realm, Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Old Globe, The New Harmony Project, and Rivendell Theatre’s Fresh Produce Festival. As a filmmaker, her debut short Heartsong debuted on Short of the Week, and went on to screen at several festivals, winning multiple awards. Aurora received a BA in Theatre from Northwestern University and an MFA from Columbia, where she was awarded the Best Dramatic Teleplay Award and the  Jesse Thompkins III Award for Achievement in Screenwriting.
